CM Punjab Free Livestock Program 2025 – September Update

The Chief Minister Punjab Free Livestock Program 2025 is a major initiative launched by the Punjab Government under the leadership of CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif. The program is aimed at empowering poor and deserving rural women, especially widows and divorced women, by providing them free livestock such as cows, buffaloes, and goats.

With an allocation of Rs. 2 billion, this program will benefit over 11,000 families in the rural areas of South Punjab, helping them achieve financial independence through dairy farming and livestock care.

Objectives of the Program

• Reduce rural poverty by providing livestock as a source of income.

• Support rural development through livestock growth and dairy production.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the program, the applicant must:

• Be a widow or divorced woman.
• Be under 55 years of age.
• Be a resident of Punjab with a valid CNIC and domicile.
• Belong to a low-income household.
• Have a poverty score (PMT) of less than 32.
• Not own any previous livestock given by the government.
• Be physically and mentally able to care for animals.

How to Apply

✅ Online Registration

• Visit the official Punjab Livestock Department website.
• Fill out the application form with your CNIC and personal details.
• Submit documents like CNIC, domicile, and widow/divorce certificate.
• Wait for confirmation via SMS.

✅ Offline Registration

• Visit your nearest Veterinary Hospital or Livestock Department Office.
• Submit your application manually with required documents.

Livestock Loan Option (For Small Farmers)

In addition to free animals, the government has launched an Interest-Free Livestock Card:

• Send an SMS: PLC <space> CNIC number to 8070.
• Eligible farmers will receive a Livestock Card with a limit of up to Rs. 270,000.
• The card can be used to buy animal feed and veterinary products.
• Repayment starts after 4 months.

Timeline – September 2025 Update

• Phase 1 started earlier this year and distributed livestock to thousands of women.
• Phase 2 began in June 2025 and registrations are now closed.
• New beneficiaries are being selected and livestock distribution is ongoing.
